About the Founder:

GENERAL PROVISION llc, (Genprov) was founded in 2007 by Will R. Dean, Managing Director, to provide technical and risk management services on a consulting basis. 

Will is a native of Auburn, AL, USA, where he graduated from Auburn High School in the College Preparatory curriculum.  His extracurricular activities included: Rifle team (Expert), Ranger team, literary magazine, and school newspaper.  Will graduated from Auburn University in 1991, where he studied International Relations and Economics, and participated in the Model United Nations and Economics Club.  Subsequent studies were conducted at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he completed additional course work in Mathematics, Financial Accounting, and Management Accounting.

Will’s professional career began as a co-founder in a start-up company focused on the commercialization of "smart materials" for industrial applications.  In this capacity, Will worked closely with investment bankers, industrialists, defense contractors, intellectual property practitioners, and technology transfer professionals.  In 1998, Will relocated to Atlanta, GA, where he practiced professionally conducting risk management activities concerning multi-million dollar product liability litigation, intellectual property theft, white collar crime, and computer forensics.  In conjunction with those pursuits, the development, implementation, and management of an ISO 9001 type Quality Management System for an accredited computer forensics laboratory was also accomplished. In 2015, will was retained by a start-up specialty electrical services company which has grown from 4 to 50 employees in 2020 and $10-20M USD in annual sales revenues.

Will has held private investigator and adjustor licenses in several states, along with a Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator certification from EC-Council. For field engineering, he is also certified in First Aid/CPR,  Enclosed Spaces, Crane Direction, Rigging, and additional field certifications, including Southern Company Services Distribution Switching authority.
